These are uncertain times, as the world is constantly in a churn.
Several new threats and challenges are emerging, with a new phase of economic globalization ticking. Some of the changes are expected to transform how human societies are organized, even as damage to the environment and climate poses serious security threats.
I am not a soothsayer or an economic forecaster trying to paint a bleak picture with a raft of data. But in my more than three decades as a business journalist, the one thing that I have been hearing constantly is the exploitation and use of energy and natural sources, be it in China or in India, my home country. With everything remaining equal, I still spot a silver lining that after the recent two sessions in China talks started resurfacing again about the need for a paradigm shift towards a circular and zero-carbon economy.
